About the producer
The history of the Janson farm dates back to 1926 when Carl Alexander Janson emigrated from Sweden to Panama. Their farm is located in the Volcán region of Chiriquí, known for producing some of the best coffee in the world. The Janson family focuses on meticulous management of each lot, allowing for detailed tracking and control of quality throughout the production process. Their farms are interwoven with forest strips that act as natural barriers against pests and protect the local ecosystem. Within their properties, they have a reservation area that helps preserve secondary forests and safeguard regional fauna.
The Janson family emphasizes sustainable farming and maintaining soil nutrient balance without using pesticides or herbicides. Their environmentally conscious approach is also evidenced by the beehives near their plantations, which produce delicious honey from Geisha coffee blossoms.
This lot comes from the Los Alpes farm and was processed using the washed method, which perfectly preserves the unique character of the Geisha variety, including its signature floral notes and structured acidity.
About the flavour
The taste of this coffee is super complex and structured, evolving significantly from a hot cup to a cold one. Initially, the flavour is very sweet, reminiscent of tropical fruit with a pleasant and pronounced floral aroma. As the coffee cools, its acidity develops into notes of citrus, grapes, and yellow fruit. The finish is long, evoking orange blossom and grapefruit. The body is light to medium, juicy, and delicate, silky.
